    If light was instantaneous going in one direction, that would mean stars we are seeing in that direction we are seeing in real-time. That means that, since there aren't infinitely many stars littering the sky in that direction, we are effectively seeing the edge of the universe, thus proving the universe is finite. And the corollary to this is that stars we are seeing in the opposite direction which we thought were 46 billion light-years away are actually only 23 billion light-years away, so we are only seeing half of the universe that we thought we were in that direction. What if, in that longer direction, all the radio waves we've been broadcasting into space are being received by an alien civilization in real-time, but their response is taking billions of years to reach us. Maybe they just think we've been complete and total jerks to be ignoring them all this time and now they are coming to kill us to make us finally shut up and they can get the first quiet night's sleep they've had in over a hundred years.

    send light around a black hole such that it is in a perfect circle and measure it from the start to its arrival after the trip around it , the space around the black hole is curved and the light will travel in this circle in a uniform space time curvature , because if not it will fall in the black hole .     Uh. Start two cesium/rubidium/mechanic/chemical clocks on earth. Start laser or radio modulation with clocking data broadcast to Mars. Take one clock, go to Mars. Start two clocks there also. Three clocks on Mars. Broadcast from Mars to Earth over a satellite or retrans connection for clocking data. Run real time experiments back and forth. Leave Mars, take clock and one of the new clocks and leave to Earth. Leave. Compare clock time when you get to and from. Presto.

    I feel sure that clocks could be synchronized, then moved apart. Time dilation can be calculated based on speed and distance traveled then the clocks are readjusted with an offset.

    ALso needs a vacuum to control conditions of the experiment. Also does a spectrum in infrared move faster than on in the blue or green spectrum since size and the energy of the photon make it faster or slower so you'd need to see if in each spectrum band the same or along the spectrum from the weakest to the strongest color of photon and see if they are measurably faster or slower and do the photons bouncing bump into the ones that are now going into the return so at the impact point are photons slowing as they go through or bye each other. Do photons like water have cohesion so do the ones on the to trip drag the ones on the return trip like a magnet effect another field causing flex like gravity bends. I'm a layman and these are just questions I think might have a consideration.

    The questions that always have bothered me is what even is "hard work" and "talent"? Why should anyone value them? Why does success have to be fame and fortune? Why should anyone care about being successful? Why should society be structured around an arbitrary concept of merit? Who gets to define the "merit"? What gave them the authority to decide who's deserving and who isn't? Why can't a humble couch potato be just as deserving of respect and fortune as anyone else?

    Except the LED bulbs have power supply bases that die on a schedule. So really we're back to square one, with the low quality LED bulbs it seems we're back to the cartel, and no way to discern a quality long-lasting light source from a low quality one. I for one would pay double if I knew the bulb would last 15 years!

    Couldn't you hook up a wire to both clocks without moving them and connect them to a single button to activate them then shoot the light (Edit to clarify) If we are trying to determine if a signal is faster in one direction than the other then if the wire lengths are the same then if you could preform this experiment in space an a plane then by conducting the experiment in different directions and comparing the data we could tell I think.
