I'm 13 and decided to read a 100 page book(mandatory for school)so I wouldn't have to do it later and altogether, I listened to 2 hours, 10 minutes and 51 seconds. Needless to say...I finished that damn book.

I was going to comment about how the only song i know here is the Minecraft background music, but realized how beautiful this comment section is. No hype beasts, using more emojis than there are letters in the comment. Not even the accounts that you can tell are a black guy that watches too much anime, but only shounen. I have spent around ten minutes typing this beautifully worded essay to show you, how much I appreciate this pure land. Even though, I have to be studying for my physics exams. So at the end, all I leave you with is my full appreciation for keeping this comment section soo pure, Thank you.

"Back then" you had to be an emperor, king, member of the royal court, or lucky enough to work as a servant in the reigning Royal household to be exposed to what we now call Classical music. The Arts (all disciplines: performing, visual, and literature) were exclusively for the most upper reaches of the most elite members of society. From the times of the Egyptian pharaohs (ca 5000 yrs B.C.) through the Renaissance era (ca 1400 - 1700's A.D.) art was exclusively for the pleasure and recreation of the strictly the wealthiest and most powerful. For the first 6-7000 yrs of recorded human history, visual art was ONLY commissioned by the ruling government or religion of the times. Now, the relatively global access (short of undeveloped and third world countries) to music is a gift and a blessing. Musical scores of films dictate the desired emotion a director wants the audience to experience to convey the specific context of the character's experience or a scene's impact. With all of the current global problems that exist in our lifetimes, our almost total access to music is a saving grace for a lot people. I'm continuously amazed by its direct connection to human emotion and experience. But... I can't figure out for the life of me how you people can READ while it's playing in the background!? ;-)

    22. Synchro FREYA

I'm reading divergent to this... Surprisingly I like it 😳

      Classical Music for Reading... Comments

    34. Chuck Searcy

I'm 77. Thanks for letting me join your conversation. When I was 17 I listened to classical music for the first time, as a university freshman who stumbled into the music room of the university library one day. A nice librarian explained the setup to me. There was a row of turntables to play 33 LP albums, with large headphones attached -- the leathery type that made us listeners look like WWII dive bombers. The sound quality was heavenly. The librarian introduced me to Bach, Beethoven, Handel, Mozart, Chopin, Debussy, dozens of other composers. And to virtuoso performers, now long gone, but their music lives on in their rich legacies of stunning talent embraced by unique and mesmerizing interpretation. That gift to me at age 17, my introduction to classical music, has stayed with me all these years, and for that I am eternally grateful.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful story, Chuck! We're honoured that you've stumbled upon our channel and it warms our heart to know that classical music has been accompanying you for so long ❤

So happy I found this before I’m gonna become a teenager soon, my last year in primary before I have to go to secondary school, so I’m quite sad but this cheered me up a lot to listen to.

    48. milou martens

Classical music always makes me feel my emotions. Sometimes good ones, sometimes bad ones, but it makes me feel calm most of all. I don’t get why there aren’t more people that listen to this kind of music, it’s beautiful because the instruments speak to every person in a different way. One person may feel sad and another may feel happy. Also, am I the only one that is just never going to get over the fact that people are able to write this type of music. Imagine waking up with a melody in your head and creating such a masterpiece. That, for me personally, is true art.

    52. Revotry

I love listening to classical music, not to read, study, work or anything, just listening to it. It's ver calming and feels unique or different, even though many instruments are repeated on many pieces, it still feels new, even though many of them are older than any of us. And that's the thing, most of these are timeless masterpieces that will never leave our culture.

    53. Puth Sovann

    58. Relaxing Contentment

What is it about this music that makes us feel so sophisticated?

      1. milou martens

I think it might be the fact that we are able to visualize what’s on our mind and what we are feeling more, which makes us feel smarter? Idk, at least that’s it for me I think.
