Legal Eagle and I went head to head last year to see which was harder, Med School or Law School. We decided to bury the hatchet this time and join our forces to react to the popular medical malpractice episode of Grey’s Anatomy, Season 10 Episode 9 “Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word”. I brought my medical knowledge about a surgery gone wrong for a snowboarder who loses his legs above the knee. Devin Stone brought his legal expertise to break down what was accurate and what was fake during the trial of Dr. Callie Torres.

Kindly make a video on topic- As a medical student how can we protect our family and have some drugs handy at home or any other measures with which we can help our parents and neighbours in this corona time. And should we have an oxygen concentrator at home for ourselves and people around us if they need it?

      4. Briann Zegers

      LOVED this!!!

    6. August_Very_Own

1:20 - 2:13 The discussion of the promises about the surgery clearly aggravated Mike because the veins in his neck were at full attention after watching that

    8. topflight408

      I love you 2 together

    9. Its_taliaaa_

Love this collab! I do have a question as a medical professional myself. I’m not in surgery, but don’t you need to sign something before surgery (maybe it’s included in the consent), that says all the risks of surgery, including infections and worst case scenarios ? Doesn’t that negate the patient’s ability to sue the surgeon (and ruin their career)?

    10. Romeo Bazile

I like watching these two together it's like watching Brothers

    11. eric silvestre

couldnt even focus on the video. i spent the whole time thinking how a paper cut can take out dr.mike if it just got him on that huge vain on his neck

    12. Jazmyn Wakefield

I’ve been waiting for more videos on greys !

    13. Scott R.

Ditch the lawyer. What he says means nothing. Their job is to make money regardless of anything else. They are paid to lie and get rich when they get away with it. The patient was and is an idiot. There is nothing to be learned here. Doctors make errors but lawyers blow up every error to make huge lawsuits. How many lawyers would do medical malpractice if their fee was capped? Very few. Lawyers greed is killing us with the cost of medical care. I’m all for the patient receiving compensation when injured and a huge settlement should go to the patient and a reasonable fee to the lawyer.

    14. detorie5

You should watch season 8 episode 24 or season 5 episode 13, very happy and family friendly episodes 😇😇😇😇

    27. darkecofreak23

Dr. Mike is like “I can’t even with this show.” 😂 Grey’s Anatomy has about as much medical knowledge as any episode of Law & Order does legal knowledge.

    28. Mayjane N

Please react to New amsterdam!! (Medical show)

    29. Carlos Elizondo

Both Will check the resident episode where Is almost suef

    30. cqvio doli

I honestly like this format of two experts reacting together. It's like they are quizzing each other instead of just talking to a camera.

    31. nicebluejay

This all occurs because Grey's takes place in a magical crazy hospital with no nurses.

    33. Neil Blackburn

This is the team-up of heroes we needed in these dark times.

    34. Jaelynn Faniel

Do doctors give antibiotics after surgery, if a patient asks for them?

    35. TheTikiza

I had an ACL surgery a couple years ago. Maybe it’s because it was a out patient procedure, but NO ONE checked in with me after my surgery. I never saw a primary care doctor after, I don’t even think I saw one before, and I didn’t see my doctor for at least a week after. Then again this is the same surgeon who showed up late for my surgery. So.

    36. Gabriela Velazquez

This was really interesting to watch.. good combo here

    37. Privacy Risk

Love all the armchair lawyers and pseudo doctors in the comments, It's priceless.

    38. Vali

I couldn't even get through 4 minutes of the video... f*ck lawyers

    39. Sara Brown

I’ve been dealing with an infected toe since the end of January. I saw my ortho door doctor two days later. I am STILL going in every week to see my Ortho doc who did the surgery to clean out the infection, and I have a nurse visit me once a week. This is crazy. Grey’s isn’t a good hospital. 😂

    40. C Y

    55. bjelln

The fact that they both caught "hun" immediately and reacted just proves how professional these men are.

    56. Janice Angelica Prieto

I need to know, do doctors actually have intense personal conversations to push their patients to do the right thing? Like telling a patient to be a better parent or something?

Is the brightness on this video really low for anyone else?

    67. Pavanjot Bamrah

      Please review casualty

    68. Jessica Degen

there was one time my dad tried lifting a freezer and the mussel ligaments broke and turned my dads arm into spongebobs. first reaction from his doctor was "uh-oh" making my dad freak out more than he already was and yell "UH-OH OH?! UH-OH?!?! YOURE NOT SUPPOSE TO SAY UH-OH!!!" the doctor laughed and now its a funny memory. especially since the doctor told him whatever he use to be able to do, he cant now and has to ask people "hay sonny, could you help me with this?"

    69. Ace Jenkins

Super low key! That situation of how the guy got arthritis from one crash obviously was fabricated and there’s more to it in real life. However, for me as a young 12 year old I was playing soccer with kids at a park. I got slide tackled or knocked down somehow and feel pretty hard. That same night I woke up with the most intense pain that I’ve really experienced of it’s kind to date. All of it felt like it was in my hips front back side and around. More specifically it was definitely at and around my joints and bones rather than what a muscle tear or stress usually feels like. The pain didn’t go away that night and in fact just sorta persisted causing every action that involved movement to be excruciating for years day in day out with variations in pain. I wasn’t diagnosed with any form or thought of arthritis until later in my sophomore year so about 16. After that I went on a medication that’s treated my pain and aches wonderfully. Main thing is it’s always bothered me how suddenly the onset of the type of pain this was. You always imagine arthritis as a slow burn that builds as it gets worse. It is a slow burn that builds as your joints get tight from lack of use among other things. It’s possible I suppose I had damage that wasn’t noticed, maybe I got hit hard than I thought, maybe I already had arthritis even then and an injury just sparked it. Again always seemed incredibly odd to me how quickly and how intense my pain came on. Especially since the initially impact when I was playing soccer as a kid didn’t really leave me in pain or feeling like I’d been injured.

    70. Monica Anggraini

Hope you react to Hospital playlist again 💃

    71. Sam Mala

When I had surgery in 2016 for a VNS implant, the neurosurgeon and hospital staff were on me like a hawk. I couldn't cough or sneeze without two or three people popping in with a "Are you feeling okay? Do you need something?" while checking my vitals, incisions and ROM. I couldn't go home until I ate, passed gas, urinate, walk, no fever and could take my medication without vomiting. Couldn't imagine them sending me home while I had a fever and whatnot. Love this collab, it's really helpful. Nice learning new things.

    76. Alicja K

What I'm missing here is... Why was there no "bewoop!" At the end of the video? ;) But more seriously - great colab! Hope to see more like this :D

Hey doctor mike, can you react to a “Fit to Fat to Fit” episode? Watched your video on living life at 800lbs and got me interested to hear your medical perspective of the trainers gaining and losing weight rapidly and the possible health complications. If you do choose to some of the better episodes (imo) are s1e1 and s1e9 and you can find them right on youtube.

I think Dr. Mike needs to review his infective endocarditis understanding. Everything that happened to this patient can be explained as a result of septic emboli from IE, though rare to occur in as large a vessel as was involved.

First time I was on a jury one of the first witnesses put on the stand was the guy the defendant was trying to help when he bit the ear of the victim in the case. It completely set the tone of this being a defense of other case and it was made by the prosecutor. Short version of what happened in the case. Big drunk homeless guy, comes back to homeless camp, begins beating up smaller homeless guy, the defendant a third older homeless man tried to help the smaller homeless guy by pulling the big drunk guy off of him. In process of fight, bites the big dudes ear, because it was the only way he the smaller man could bring him out of the drunken rage on top of the other guy was biting his ear. Ear tore as he turned away in pain, guy gets off of the smaller man, calls 911 for having his ear bit off. Prosecutor tried to argue it was excessive, but seeing the three guys and hearing the story of the victim assaulting another person as the first testimony completely blew up the case.

The biggest issue is that they have to tell a story that spans weeks in an hour with an audience that most likely doesn't know better and have to get certain concepts across.
